The Student & Young Professional Activities Committee (SYP) of IEEE Computer Society MGAB is responsible for promoting membership activities within the Computer Society to specifically address the needs of students and young professionals globally through initiatives targeted at advancing their knowledge, development and careers.

Our Global Initiatives

Providing unique engagement opportunities and access to a wide range of resources such as membership, mentoring, competitions, skill building, scholarships and much more!

Student Leadership Program

Focuses on preparing future leaders by improving awareness about IEEE Computer Society Governance.

SYP Outreach Initiative

Focuses on new member generation by running CS Membership drives by collaborating with already existing IEEE programs/activities.

Student & Young Professional Activities Committee

Helping computing students and early career members find their professional identity by providing unique engagement opportunities and access to a wide range of resources such as membership, mentoring, competitions, skill-building, scholarships and much more!
 

The Student & Young Professional Activities Committee is a standing committee of the IEEE Computer Society Member and Geographic Activities Board and was created to promote membership activities to specifically address the needs of students and young professionals globally.  Its primary objectives are to:

  • Authorize and run global initiatives and projects specifically designed for students and / or early career professionals.
  • Design and recommend membership activities to address the needs of students and / or early career professionals for potential adoption at the chapter, section, regional, national, and international levels.
  • Represents the views of students and young professionals to the IEEE Computer Society Board and its standing committees as well as the IEEE Students and Young Professionals Affinity Groups.
